This is a limited-edition maekake apron created in collaboration with Taipei-based artist WHOSMiNG, who is known for his simple line drawing based on coffee and travel. The design is silk-screen printed on 100% thick cotton fabric woven using 100-year old shuttle looms made by Toyota.
Limited edition of 100 pieces only, there will be no reprints.
Artist Statement
From tradition to the future, I think one of the most important ideas is "Love & Peace." It has helped us move forward, allowing us humans to keep developing. I use a simple style to illustrate the famous traditional painting "The Creation of Adam: Neurology and Neoplatonism.", which I feel illustrates this concept well. Furthermore, I changed it to the iconic WHOSMiNG style, so the character is wearing a hat and holding a cup of coffee.

Dimensions: Apron – 67 cm x 47 cm (including fringe) / Belt – 260cm (suitable for waist sizes up to 95cm)
- Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
- Do not tumble dry.
- Do not wash in warm water.
- Wash separately from whites as the dye may transfer onto other fabrics. May shrink slightly after wash due to the nature of the fabric.
About the Artist
WHOSMiNG (Taiwan)
WHOSMiNG is a multidisciplinary design and illustration studio by creator Ming Liu based in Taipei. He's skilled at capturing people’s features, using simple lines and strokes. One of his popular series is #mingscups, has sketched over 500 baristas on coffee cups, in over 50 cities throughout the world, and he is constantly adding to more. His illustration has become popular and well-known on social media worldwide.
He has been invited to collaborate with several international brands, including McDonald's, UNIQLO, BEAMS, New Balance, niko and…, MINI and more. WHOSMiNG has also been invited to hold solo exhibitions in Tokyo by “Tegamisha” and "DAIKANYAMA T-SITE" several times.
